Requirements

Having your wedding in Barbados is now easier than ever. Just a few requirements to be met before you say “I do”.

Application for a marriage license must be made by both parties in person, at the office of the Ministry of Home Affairs Cheapside, Bridgetown, Barbados. 
Applicants must be 18 years or over.

Valid passports or the original or certified copies of the applicants' birth certificates and picture identification must be presented.
If either party was married previously and widowed, a notarized copy of the marriage certificate and death certificate in respect of the deceased spouse will be required.

If either party was divorced, an original copy of the Decree Absolute and NOT the Decree Nisi. If the Decree Absolute is in a language other than English, it must be accompanied by a certified translation.
